There are days when I want red lipstick. Berry flavour Rita Hayworth silent sex star glimmering red. That perfect moue of a Casablanca kiss red, the disney approximation of vamp that haunts the dreams of old executives who remember the day the princess died. Marylin never wore this red, it's simply not for blonde's. This red is for the ghosts of famous prostitutes, it's for the high heeled goddesses who walk the earth and knock over preconceived perceptions with a slight flick of their tongue. It's for I'm Leaving You written on that one spectacular mirror that was such a find at the flea market, for that smudge on the collar that tells the other woman that you're better than them. Deep passionate blood red. The red of fingernails in an 80's movie, a mixture of the eyes wide shut blowjob of the pretty woman and the betrayal of modern culture burning bras.

Today isn't one of those days, but yesterday might have been. I wanted to swim in eyes yesterday. Breathe in that comforting honey warmth that emanates from the sweetest of arsenic hearts and melts all my bones. Instead at home there's cinnamon. A slender figure of awkward elegance, waiting to find my hand. I worry, but not very much. Lately I've been too tired, weary on a starvation level. Not enough calories to keep up with myself. My joints creak and snap when I move, and my head is in continual search for a pillow.

He had the tremendous luck to fall onto the grapes netting my downstairs neighbor has up. He said he suspected that Skatia had jumped, but that's so far fetched as to be utterly ridiculous. have you ever seen an old ferret move? Jumping is entirely out of the question.

Some people found him in the park across the street and brought him to my building manager, the one armed german war vet. He, remembering me, took him off of them and came up to fetch me. I had a bit of a "er, I live in a building with a no pets policy, what do I say?" moment, but I went downstairs and got him back. He was quitee beside himself with panic, the poor thing. He scurried back and forth everywhere, checking to make sure everything was where it's supposed to be.

If I wear make-up, it's most likely to be red lips and a little bit of mascara. I have so many shades of red, yet all of them are subtly different in a way that only I can detect.

I need red shoes now.

this is a nice entry

I've never figured out how to work mascara. However, I'm beginning to do alright with eye-shadow in extravagent colours. I have yet to buy red lipstick because I'm not sure I could ever find the right shade of red. My yearning's rather formless, in spite of being rather simple to describe.

(My only pair of shoes are a pair of lime pbrocade skater shoes)

Red lips on pale skin can be a brave move, but all the better for being so. You have to be careful with overly 'blue' reds, and try it with your hair up. Remember, strong lips or strong eyes. Mascara's easy 'til you get hayfever.

I had red boots a few years ago (low, comfy ones, not hot, hot, hot high heeled ones). I want red shoes now; but hot.

I'm a gold lipstick girl sometimes.

I suspect I'll invest in some when I get the chance, as it seems like one of those female essentials that I've somehow been lacking. (I finally have the little black dress, and some interesting stockings, and though I don't have anything highheel yet, I'm working on it.)

Now that I can picture you, little strappy numbers that you could still ride a bicycle in seem like a very good idea.

I've never really done delicately strappy shoes: my feet are wide and I like shoes I can run in, even if they are 4". It's amazing what shoes clothes I can cycling in.

Oops, I meant to say strapping. Something striking and tough yet interesting. Strappy is an entirely different ballpark. I, too, have wide feet, it comes from being barefoot all the time. Strappy shoes are only for those mythical little girls who've never climbed a tree or chipped nail polish.

Barefoot, barefoot, barefoot. Love it barefoot. And no I never was a mythical little girl: I climbed the trees and kiccked the footballs hard.

Is that a consistent for-the-forseeable-future schedule?

'Cause I was wondering today, what you'd be up to on the 1st of October....

Someone has a party on the first, but I suppose it depends. perhaps we're thinking of the same evening. What's your plans?

On the Afternoon of October 1st, I've been planning to gather a bunch of fellow fanboys and -girls to see "Serenity" downtown. I'd been casting the invitation net far and wide to all the various groups I flit (in a manly way) to, or have been a member of.

And I thought of you, 'cause a) I'd not seen you in the flesh in some time, and b) you have an almost-namesake in Adam Baldwin's character. (He spells it without an h. How many variants can we make here?)

I'd not heard of a party in the evening, interestingly enough....

I think there may already be a plan going to go see Serenity. When I'm slightly more organized, (say, when my computer is up and running), I'll get back to you on that. Remind me?
