  • Extremely rare shark found, then eaten

Been addicted to Omegle all day, the chat program which connects you to a completely random stranger. I just wished a gay Brazilian teenager good luck on his exams, after spending a quite significant chunk of my day in a rather gratifying discussion with a Swedish student named Phillip about med school, music, Italian earthquakes, and, finally, the current global economic downturn and what it's been going to Iceland. It's also freaking fantastic for surreal fun, so much so I'm going to start a file of my favourite saved conversations. Have you got any?

Should we stay as platonic, imaginary friends forever?

    On-line translation says:

It was a lie entirely after all. I was really disappointed in you. I think that it is difficult for there to be it with a friend. Be betrayed so much.

So that's interesting. It seems one of the various people I talked to today may have been lying to me as to who they were.

The shark was an accident and died in the net but that bird story really makes me sad. :(

Have you seen the dodo story Jason posted in a comment under this? Amazing.

The insane conversations I have that are rather like snippets from a comedy or something. (But much better.)

Looking for someone you can chat with. Hang on.

You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
(before I can blink out comes the following)
Stranger: have you seen frank ?
    (I instantly respond)
    You: no today
    You: not today that is
    Stranger: oh. :(
Stranger: he left his pet orange in my apartment.
Stranger: and i think it's dead.
    You: Have you seen Alice
Stranger: no i havent, sorry. ):
You: last I saw she flew over the telephone wire
Stranger: oh maybe she's there then
You: with a yellow ribbon in her claws
    Stranger: on the wire
    You: that could be.
    Stranger: :)
Stranger: but i have to find frank and tell him his pet orange might be dead.
    Stranger: it doesnt move.
    You: :-T
(typing)I find that most oranges, even in the wild, only move when y
    Stranger: bye stranger !
    Your conversational partner has disconnected.
-- cut off before I could finish and send --
    (typing) ou aren't watching them

The entire exchange took a matter of seconds. I was amused, but only just warming up when they moved on. :-T

Before that I had a much longer conversation with a Chinese football player who enjoys the classics of film and literature. We discussed the nature of hope (he seems to be an aspiring optimist) and how questions can sometimes be more satisfying that answers.

Thanks for the link. That was fun :-T

Be proud of me. I'm walking away from a very obvious and easy "your mom" joke.

I had a rather long chat with a swede who was apparently also studying for finals, and we shared histories.

I guess I damned myself after the first comment, but I just had a REALLY LONG (2 hour) conversation with a lad in China who's learning English and we talked about life and our histories and he had lots of questions for me as I've traveled and he wants to. He asked me what my plans were and I told him, I asked what his were and he said none, so I asked him what his dreams were instead.

I actually ran over here to post b/c I feel a bit like you. We will be chatting again later. My thought was 'well hell if Jhayne can do it!'

DAMN YOU! I want my silliness back please.
