Costumes! Bring out your dead!

our six month lunaversary

It was our six month anniversary this past weekend, so we went to Teatro ZinZanni, the dinner theater circus we went to on our very first date, as part of our glorious Halloween. Teatro ZinZanni celebrated with us, in turn, by signing us up for their costume contest, where we won third place! I'd never been in a costume contest before, so I was nervous, but it was ridiculously fun, and we won silly Teatro ZinZombie t-shirts. Plus, as a bonus, we were informed after that we were the number one staff pick! We're still thrilled. What better way to start an evening?

What was your costume(s)? Post pictures!

Thank you! I think we're going to be re-using our cotume as often as possible, it was so much fun.

Congratulations on your victorious, six-month anniversary. Anniversary? Lunaversary? Mensiversary?

My costume was tres simple this year - V for Vendetta, which was all I could afford. There is both photographic and video evidence of me dancing in all my uncoordinated glory. I pray it never sees the light of day, i.e.: the internets, but I fear it may be beyond my control.

Hexalunaversary. I'm pretty sure that's it.

Which, really, is likely the most appropriate word for a Halloween anniversary possible.

Mensiversary?

seriously? That is one way to measure the passage of time, I suppose. :-T

It's a perfectly cromulent word.

[identity profile] themythicalman.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Since 'mensis' is Latin for month, yes. Yes, it is.

Tis indeed as cromulent a word as it is innuendic

The above link shows only a few words remaining in English that derive from mensis (including trimester and semester and moon, albeit remotely). My mind had gone directly to the moon related physiological measure of time experienced by half the population that most resembles the spelling.

That said, "Hexalunaversary" for the win. :-T

Oh man. I'd love to see you dance.

[identity profile] themythicalman.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
You'd probably hurt yourself from falling over in laughter at the sight of it. Then again, one person at this party seemed to think that I was a good dancer, so there you go. In the end, I had a blast, so it was a great Halloween that way.

If I ever manage to make it back to Sin City, I'll let ya know.

Hee! Batgirl is great. Did you get David up as batman? I haven't seen a picture of his yet.

[identity profile] superjill.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Duncan didn't get pics of him, but someone else was snapping pics of the both of us being all adorable.

Yes, being Batgirl may have been entirely for David's benefit. Him being Batman would not be at all for my benefit, though, so given what he had at hand, he came up with, er, something I keep forgetting. October something something. He would have been Razz, which is a villain in the Batman universe apparently, but it would have required some fancy shaving, and you know he's been perpetually exhausted, so that wasn't going to happen without disaster of some kind. Whatever he was, he looked very good.

I was a Zeta Reticulan assassin.

Wait, so you dressed up as a gray? Or were out hunting grays? Either way, awesome. There was a Scully and Mulder at Teatro who showed up with a little inflatable alien.

Well, given that I was wearing a necklace of glowing Zeta heads and a green Impact Guns #3 t-shirt...

We weren't as creative as usual this year:
